I am currently trudging thorough my last year of journalism grad school at the University of Texas at Austin. I’m from Minnesota and lived in Corpus Christi, TX for a while. I’m learning to take advantage of this awesome town I live in with my girlfriend and another roommate/friend of ours. Our place is near Zilker Park, home of the Austin City Limits Music Fest. We can hear the headliners from our driveway.
I love music (yup, most obvious statement possible). I play the drums and have been in live-performing bands since early high school, giving me whatever “talent cred” there is to give. For me, attending concerts is right up there with beer and sex when considering life’s necessities. I was born in 1985, so the first tape I bought was Boyz II Men’s Cooleyhighharmony (uh huh) and my first CD was Everclear’s So Much for the Afterglow (oh yeah). I’ve been trying to listen to anything and everything I can get my hands on since.
However, something I’ve paid little attention to until recently is the sub-culture of vinyl records, which sets up the basis of this entire blog. I’m new to the game. This is my way of exploring this world of vinyl records, and recording what I find out. For more of the method behind the madness, read the About page.
Hope you enjoy, and check back everyday for a new post, and some other cool stuff along the way.
